Christmas Newsletter
November 26th, 2009THE FRIENDS OF DAVENHILL WISH YOU ALL A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY AND PEACEFUL NEW YEAR.
CHRISTMAS RAFFLE
You should all have received your books of raffles tickets which were sent home with the children last week; tickets cost £1 per book. As always we have our renowned luxury drinks, food and chocolate hampers; plus many other prizes. More books of tickets are available from the school office. Please return all stubs and unwanted tickets to school no later than the morning of Thursday 3rd December. All winning tickets will be drawn at the Christmas Fayre on Thursday 3rd December. Good Luck!
MUFTI DAY
“Mufti Day” will be on Tuesday 1 December. This special day allows children to come into school in their own clothes…..NO UNIFORM! The “fine” for this is that children must bring in something that can be used for the Christmas Fayre. We would welcome donations of bottles of wines and spirits, boxes of chocolates, tins of biscuits, festive goods and groceries, unwanted (unopened) gifts etc. We cannot accept used toys/cuddly toys because of health & safety reasons. All items will be used as prizes either for our raffle or the tombola
CHRISTMAS FAYRE
Always a very popular event in the run up to Christmas; THURSDAY 3 DECEMBER is the date with doors opening at 3.30pm to enable children who are picked up at the office the chance to get into the queue on the Infant
Playground. Stalls include Tombolas, Treasure Hunt, Hoop-La, Spin the Wheel, White Elephant and our cake and groceries stall bursting with bargains. Our very popular gift stall to enable children to buy gifts for Mum, Dad and Grandparents, plus no visit to our Fayre would be complete without having your face painted! Our talented team will be in the new Parent Room ready to transform you into a butterfly, Spiderman or even Rudolph. You can also have your tattoos done here on your way to the “Davenhill Diner” which will be open serving hot food, drinks and some festive favourites, located in the school Lunch Room.
Father Christmas will be in his “Enchanted Forest” grotto;
come along and tell him what you would like for Christmas, you could even have your photograph taken with him!
Bring the whole family along for this enjoyable afternoon.
If you have any unwanted gifts which could be used as prizes please leave them at the school office.

Christmas disco**************
We hope those of you who came to your first school Disco last week had a fabulous time! Now we are planning a Disco with a difference! More dancing and more chances of winning a prize; plus Father Christmas will be visiting the children at the Infant Disco.
This year’s night of fun is WEDNESDAY 16 DECEMBER; Infants 6.00pm – 7.00pm. Juniors 7.30pm – 8.30pm, Hot Dogs, sweets and drinks on sale. Tickets are £3 each which includes a gift for each child; pay on the door where children’s hand will be stamped to enable them to receive their gift. Tea and Coffee will be sold during the Infant Disco as parents are expected to stay with their infant children. The Infant Disco is open to all children from Nursery up to Year 2. Please note that Infant children are NOT allowed to stay for the Junior Disco nor should they be left under the supervision of older siblings. Children of any age will not be allowed to leave the Disco unless accompanied by an adult. We ask that if you park on the Infant playground, please be vigilant as this area is quite dark with a lot of cars. Alternatively if you are on foot you may access the Disco via the school’s main entrance. Please make sure you pick your children up on time from the inside the Junior hall.
Please clearly label your box with your name and drop them off at the school office no later than the afternoon of Wednesday 2 December.
Can you help?
To make sure Father Christmas feels really at home when he comes to visit us at Aintree Davenhill, we want to make sure his Grotto is the best it can be!
Please could you loan us Fibre Optic Christmas trees, animated lights and displays; anything that you may think would help us decorate his grotto. Please clearly label your box with your name and drop them off at the school office no later than the afternoon of Wednesday 2 December.
